Community Facilities Review update – April/May 2026

MANNINGHAM Council has provided an update regarding its Community Facilities Review.
A statement from Council notes Council officers have been carefully reviewing the detailed community feedback received about the draft Warrandyte Community Facilities Review Report.
“We are now preparing a document that summarises the consultation findings, which will cover the key themes, ideas, and issues raised by our community.
“We want to ensure all voices are heard, understood, and considered as part of this process.”
The statement says consultation outcomes report will be shared publicly once it’s been finalised and provide a copy to those who made a submission with an outline of the next steps.
“We’re continuing to meet with community representatives, key stakeholders, and groups to discuss their feedback, issues, and concerns in more detail.
We’ve appreciated the opportunity to gain a greater understanding of the different views, perspectives, and priorities of the Warrandyte community and users of these facilities.
These important conversations will help us determine the next steps as we work together to improve our local facilities.”
Grant Purdy from the Warrandyte Volunteers Alliance (WAVA) said representatives have requested a meeting with Council officers, which will be held on May 13, and have asked that the agenda includes:
- A date for a decision on a suitable, permanent location of the Men’s Shed.
- A project plan that enables the Men’s Shed to submit a State Government grant application by June 4.
- A target date for a report on the condition of all existing community facilities owned by Council.
- Needs and constraints of their users with the purpose of establishing a prioritised program of works to return each facility to a state that is fully fit for purpose and suitable for their users.
